I am formally called Epidemic.
But if you know me, you may call me Virus.
I am of the grand Thoroughbred bloodlines.
I am a bay pelted filly at sixteen.two hands high at three years old.
Don't take my blindness in one eye fool you. I'm just as sharp as any other horse in the field and I will show them who's boss if they have any doubt in me.
They call me an underdog, but my legs don't need an eye to run. If I was totally blind, I would, without a doubt, run my heart out and still kick butt.
People always doubt me and I hate it. They think I can't hear them coming up on my left side. They think I can't feel their hooves pounding away. The lost of my left eye only made me stronger. Though I still feel like I have to prove myself just to get respect around here.
I am young and like all horses, am prone to being spooky sometimes. On my left I am especially spooky. I'm typically on constant alert but some things slip by and I look like a fool when I jump when someone just walks up to my left shoulder and pats me.
Despite my longing to prove myself, I am a calm, focused horse. Though if you try and break my concentration with silly little games, I will have no tolerance for it. If you work with me however, I will show my softer side at times, while at others I'll pretend not to care in the slightest what may happen to you. (Though sometimes I don't need to pretend.)
My Favorite Treat is I don't care much for treats, really.
My Favorite Person Is Sandra. Something seems different about her. I don't know what it is, but I like it.
In A Race Like I said before, I'm rather spooky on my left side. Luckily for me, the rail is on the left and I found great comfort being able to hug the rail throughout most of the race. I do come off to pass another horse but typically will go right back on the rail.
My PastI got my name from the horrible eye infection that went around the stables. Though I was young at the time, the memory is slightly foggy but I could recall what happened like it was yesterday.
I was unfortunately the only foal on the ground at the time and caught it. My mother was given antibiotics, like all the other horses, at the time so my mother was safe. They assumed that I would get the antibiotics safely from my mother's milk.
Unfortunately I failed to receive it in time. The vision in my left eye became started to disappear. They quickly removed my eye so that the infection would not spread to the other. Luckily, my right eye is in perfect health.[/size]
